A visit home...

...to the ZOO!! Actually, I love to visit the zoo when I go home to visit New Orleans. Oh - the boys love it too :) It is truly a wonderful zoo. You will just have to go see it to believe it!
Athan asked me last year, when we were at the zoo, if we could next time spend little time looking at animals and more time playing on the playground and monkey hill. So his request was granted.

Can Anyone Relate?

A spotless house is a sign of a misspent life. - anonymous

At my house, "dust" is a noun, not a verb. - anonymous

Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing. - Phyllis Diller

Dust is a protective coating for fine furniture. - Mario Buatta

Housekeeping is like being caught in a revolving door. - Marcelene Cox

If you want to see me, come over anytime. If you want to see my house, make an appointment. - anonymous

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on. - anonymous

I thank the Lord I no longer have to go to work. I just get out of bed in the morning, and there it is - all around me. - anonymous

I can't clean house and save the world at the same time. - anonymous

Christmas in April?

Jonesborough is the oldest town in Tennessee (so they say.) It has a very fun, little Main Street with small resteraunts, a book store, a candy store, antique stores....you know, the basics:) When dad is in town, we go to Jonesborough - at least once!
In May through September they have 'music on the square' where alot of people bring lawn chairs and listen to some mostly good music (sometimes not so good.) It's a crab shoot! Either way, if dad is in town, (thats right) we go.
The other day, Dad and I and Aiden had a great time walking around Jonesborough. The weather was beautiful, we filled out tummys at the Main Street Cafe, and I bought these Christmas ornaments.
I am one of those moms that is hoping to give my boys, when they have their own Christmas tree, a collection of ornaments that I have gotten for them over the years. Hopefully...maybe they will marry and...maybe my future daughter-n-laws will appreciate what I have done...maybe.
One of these is going to a good friend that I'll be seeing at the end of this month:)
