Cez't La Vie...

.....thats just the way it goes - sometimes!

Thoughts about our trip to the Shanondoah Valley, VA (Massanutten Resort)

1. It sucks when your kids puke on vacation. (waking up in the middle of the night - twice)

2. It was really nice to get away - really.

3. I loved seeing Aiden's interest when I was doing a puppet show for him in a childrens museum. He was talking to the puppets like they were real.

4. Alf and I laughed when we heard Athan make the comment, 'whoa, be unto you.' It is crazy what 1st grade teachers say that stick with your kid.

5. It sucks when your kids puke on vacation. (after the 18th hole of putt-putt. And Alf having to leave his ninth hole of golf to come get us.)

6. Grateful for a day at the fabulous indoor waterpark where everyone felt well.

7. Still wondering how the magician performed some of his wicked tricks...and did he really grow up as a foster kid or was he just saying that? (same day as the waterpark - we were all feeling well!)

8. Grateful the condo had a washer/dryer. Washed away alot of germs:)

9. God is great! We got to enjoy his greatness at a Safari and at the Natural Bridge.

10. My kids watched the show Fairly Odd Parents waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much this past week!

11. Found out that bringing tape (you use for painting) and a few hot wheels is loads of entertainment for the boys.
12. Dwelt on a scripture this week that was very enriching for me personally -
Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, o my soul, and all that is with in me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Ah, we've been there! We have friends who have a time-share. It's a nice resort, but not good for skiing so it's good you didn't go in the winter. People in No. VA call it "Massanuthin." :-) We went to the buffet that is in the building with the water park but not the park - it looked like a blast though. Ironically, Orin was pretty sick when we were there too (bad fever as I recall so not as bad as puke!) We enjoyed visiting the natural bridge in the past too. Thank for bringing up some fun memories of our old stopin' ground! :-) Glad you had a nice vacation.

Wow...what fun, not being sick but the other stuff. I'm curious how you ended up taking painting tape along!!

Fun vacation! Sans the vomit of course! I love the Shen Valley. It is so lovely, and I have been too that safari park! Wow, giraffes have freekishly long and scary tongues don't they?!

Your boys are so adorable. For some reason I was thinking they where older. They sure are cuties though :)

Great blog Al, Looks like fun. Sorry about the puking. You guys have great memories you will have for a lifetime. That water park looks awesome.

So much to think about in Psalm 103 Thanks for the glipse into the Nelson Household.

Missy was kind about the Safari park adventure. It was Missy and her kids and Laura and Sarah (I don't remember if Summer was born yet, if she was she was just a little baby.) We discovered that ostriches are very ugly and will stick their necks in throw your window to find the food - freaked poor little Sarah to death. We also discovered zebras will try and bite you if you don't feed them and that goats will ruin the side of your car. Oh, and when a buffalo stops in front of you and pees, you don't go anywhere for a VERY long time! HUGE bladders!

Glad you had fun.

And thanks for the very nice comment on my blog;) I'm just glad you younger gals don't mind a 'mature' ol' women to peer in on you all once in a while!
