My Christmas this year

"It's beginning to look alot like Christmas, all around the world" Athan sung this line - just this line - all day last Saturday while we were all involved in decorating the house. Alf put the tree up and decorated the outside front porch. Athan helped with the ornaments. I lighted the tree (seven strands of lights this year, Im so proud of myself, It gets better every year - Alf says that Santa will not have a hard time finding us!) and Aiden helped by not touching anything and just sat and watched Polar Express (his responsibilities will be greater next year.)
Christmas is alot of fun this year. Internet shopping makes life enjoyable, the weather being a high of 40 creates a wonderful atmosphere, and sugar dough in frig ready to be rolled out to make christmas cookies - yummy
I work very hard to enjoy life. I do not thrive on busyness. Sometimes you have to roll with it and there are times when you just do all you can to escape it. I am escaping it this month and going to watch Alf roll with it till next week when he can join me.

I think I'm going to end up with 6 strands this year. It's a real tree for us this year! First one in several years. It was local grown, too so it's fresh and the smell is wonderful!
I know what you mean by online shopping! Nearest shopping for me is 45 miles and that's Wal-Mart (takes 1hr 20 min. on the winding roads). Nearest mall is Maryville/Alcoa, TN - 75 miles. What's your closest shopping - Bristol?

Our tree triming this year turned into a 8 hour ordeal!! We have an arificial tree that is 8 feet tall. We purhased it 3 years ago and the first time we put it together, we noticed one stran of lights that didn't work. So we turned it to the back-fixed that problem! We tell our two girls after church we are going to decorate the tree. We bring everything up from the basement and the girls are soooooo excited. We tell them wait we have to put the tree together. So they wait! Well this year we moved into a new house and my husband is still in perfection mode because the newness has not worn off. He bends every branch to perfection and takes the stran of lights off the prelite tree to see why they don't work(now we are on hour #4). The girls still waiting! He does fix the broken wire and puts it back together. Well next we put on the bows, something the girls can't do (now hour#6).Finally time to decorate(I have to find the girls because they have totally lost all interest)and it's close to bedtime, so we speed decorate to finish. It was a very exhausting day! But the tree is beautiful and all the lights work. Moral of the story: When we get in a hurry, we might miss a true blessing. Try to remember the reason for the season this year in all the craziness and stop to see just how God has blessed you. Merry Chrismas!
